Our story
How we work

M-Scope Auto Transmission Specialist Sdn. Bhd. opened in Batu Caves in 2000, at a time when very few workshops in Malaysia rebuilt automatic gearboxes locally. Cars were shipped out or fitted with whatever used unit could be found. We chose the harder path: learning the internals, importing the right parts, and building the equipment and know-how to overhaul transmissions properly.

That is still all we do. Japanese, Continental, American, British and national cars come through the workshop, including gearboxes that other shops have already given up on. Our technicians work with direct technical support from specialists in Europe, the USA, Australia and Japan, and every rebuild leaves with a two-year warranty and no mileage cap.

From Australia to Batu Caves
Before M-Scope opened, its founder, Mr Tan Sian Hwong, spent years training in Australia. The certificates from that time still hang on the workshop wall.

Mr Hwong and his team travel to Australia to train in automatic gearbox repair under Tony Gallagher, a qualified transmission rebuilder.

Training carries on in Australia: an EFI diagnosis course with Autodiagnostic Systems, and Repco Auto-Tech clinics including electronic automatic transmission diagnosis and repair.
