A power steering rack that has started to leak will usually take the pump with it if it is ignored, since the pump ends up running low on fluid. We repair or replace leaking racks, service the pump and lines, and flush the system on refill.
We also check the fluid specification. A surprising number of cars on Malaysian roads are running the wrong fluid in the steering system.
