Reconditioned Torque Converter

The torque converter is where the engine's power meets the gearbox, and it fails in ways that are easily mistaken for a dying transmission: shuddering at light throttle, slipping at steady speed, or a lock-up clutch that never engages.

We cut the converter open, replace the lock-up clutch lining, bearings and seals, clean out the debris that a failing converter pumps through the whole system, then re-weld and balance the unit. Fitting a reconditioned converter without flushing the cooler lines is the most common reason a rebuild fails twice. We always do both.
